We have had the
pleasure of driving many horses during our long tenancy in Fort Worth,
but our favorite steeds are Percherons, an ancient French horse that carried the
Knights of the Middle Ages.
They are still very popular with the Amish community. They are one of the
Draft breeds,
heavy horses designed to pull coaches, farm machinery and carry armored
warriors.
Percherons are
gorgeous, intelligent, hard-working and can pull our
little fiberglass carriages with ease. We like gray geldings best,
they look AWESOME
with the white carriages for weddings and are very visible at night in traffic.
The
"Boys" work a couple nights a week and are otherwise at leisure on our
30 acre farm adjoining the LBJ Grasslands
in Sunset, TX. They each eat about 40 lbs of hay/grain per day plus drink
30 gallons of water!
Each horse goes
through an intense training regimen before determining if they are a Classic
Carriages horse.
We provide service to over 500 private bookings per year that range from EASY to
downright SCARY.
Our private motto is "We will NOT be on REAL TV!" so we don't take
chances with horses that are not perfect for the job.
Our horses are part of the family, ask your driver for details about your horse, we are very proud of them!
